Men’s health
Men’s health
Staying healthy at your own peak performance – also a question of mental programming
Men don’t need a doctor. Men don’t have time to sit around at the doctor’s for hours. Men are healthy! Until they are really ill.
Unfortunately, men over 50 in particular lead much unhealthier lives than women of the same age. They are often not open to health-promoting measures or prevention. As a result, most men only see a doctor when they are already suffering from severe pain and may already be suffering from an advanced illness.
Men’s health – Male mindset with minor flaws
The typical male strategy of repression and perseverance when it comes to health unfortunately contains two small errors in thinking. Firstly, serious illnesses and pain could often be avoided if only they were treated early. Secondly, many serious illnesses are largely symptom-free and pain-free as we get older!
This means: a new mental programming and a health concept that picks up men!
Men’s health – our concept
At Z.O.R. am Roggenmarkt and as orthopaedists in Münster, we have developed special concepts that cater to men in their different phases of life. In doing so, we take into account the requirements of tight time management as well as health needs. We pursue clear goals with informative, targeted diagnostics and modern, highly efficient therapies:
- Improving health
- Improving the quality of life
- Increasing male performance at all levels
- Maintaining youthful vitality into old age
For young men
The challenge for adolescent men is to develop a lifestyle that promotes their mental and physical development and avoids stimulants. We give you specific training and nutritional recommendations to strengthen the adolescent body – based on its individual requirements – in terms of performance and health maintenance. After all, the foundation for a long, healthy life and fitness into old age is laid in youth.
For middle-aged and older men
In this phase, regular full-body examinations are particularly important in order to detect and treat the first functional disorders and damage to the musculoskeletal system at an early stage. Early detection in combination with preventive measures can ensure that the first signs of ageing are a long time coming. If you take care now to stay healthy or have minor problems treated immediately, you can delay degenerative signs of ageing for a long time.
Diagnostic recommendations
- Special laboratory diagnostics for the timely detection of deficiencies, hormonal imbalances or inflammatory diseases
- Analysis of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, homocysteine and uric acid as a reflection of the diet
- Analysis of the whole body composition to find deficits and hidden visceral fat (abdominal fat)
- 3D gait analysis for (progression) documentation of the gait pattern
- VNS analysis of the regulatory capacity of the autonomic nervous system, e.g. in case of exhaustion
- Surface EMG for documentation of muscle tone
- Pulmonary function test
- Training recommendations for implementation in rehabilitation or fitness centers as well as for recreational and competitive sports
- Interdisciplinary diagnostics for men, e.g. by a urologist or cardiologist to rule out the onset of coronary heart disease or a risk of stress during sport
- Preventive DXA bone densitometry
Therapeutic measures – as required
- Targeted nutritional advice based on measured deficits to normalize performance
- If increased visceral fat (abdominal fat) is detected: Instructions for “liver fasting” according to Prof. Nikolai Worm
- Alkaline therapy to stabilize the acid balance
- If required: vital substance build-up infusions,
- If required: implementation of IHHT therapy (intermittent hypoxia/hyperoxytherapy) to improve oxygen transport capacity and thus organ function
- Targeted, gradually increased, initially sensorimotor – proprioceptive training
- Afterwards: equipment training under specialist medical and physiotherapeutic guidance
- Range of physical and physiotherapeutic regenerative therapy
- Creation of an individual, detailed, written training recommendation – taking into account the previously collected scientific findings. This helps to avoid incorrect forms and intensities of training.
